Probably one of the most important cars to be update and released in recent times the new BMW 3 Series was offered to the public for sale on the 11th February 2012. Still a quality car in a 6 year old format, speculation was rising to whether BMW may score an own goal and lose some of its previous qualities.
But no-one need worry, the new 3 Series has positive reviews where ever you look, they have been able to improve on what was already good and have listed to the few moans on the old car and reacted to them.
Examples of improvement start with reducing bodyweight. On average 40kg has been removed from he vehicle, meaning the new 3 Series is a bit more nippy, but also fuel consumption comes down. It may not seem a lot, but reducing Co2 levels to below the 120 g/km on many diesel models, makes ownership much cheaper, not taking into consideration the fuel saving, but on Benefit In Kind Tax savings.
As with all BMW’s the 3 Series is for driving and this again does not let you down. The new 3 series is just that bit sharper when steering and its controls are simple enough and at hand. One of the moans form the previous cars was lack of read legroom and boot space. Both of these have been improved, if only to match the competition rather than exceed it, but a welcome addition.
The release of the new BMW 3 Series is a big day for the motor industry, but be careful when getting leasing prices, make sure it is based on the new model, as there is still likely to be older models out there being shifted at good prices.
